Philanthropy is usually associated with money. Philanthropy according to the Encarta Dictionary means, "a desire to improve the material, social, and spiritual welfare of humanity, especially through charitable activities." The term "activities" opens the door for all of us to be philanthropic. I for one give between fifteen and twenty five hours per week promoting the spiritual welfare of humanity.

We as a society have decided to believe in and focus on negativity as an adversary or an ally. Negativity is neither friend nor foe. There is no darkness, only a lack of light. Negativity is merely a lack of enthusiasm. Fear is merely the lack of love. There is no Devil, merely a lack of God. Lack is merely the opposite of Philanthropy. Takers never get enough and givers never lack.

We should all find a cause we have passion for and become philanthropic. We should all give with gusto. We should all lose our belief in lack and know that we are taken care of when we believe strong enough. We should give our love, our help, our encouragement, our time and our faith in an effort to expose people to greatness. Confidence

I love to play golf! I leaned to play golf at a fairly late age of thirty-three. Most really good golfers learned to play at an early age, before they were consumed with fear and doubt. To play good golf you need to swing effortlessly.

When one swings with little effort they are capable of generating incredible club head swing and straight trajectory. Fear dissolves confidence, which puts stress into the swing and tightens up all the muscles that need to be relaxed. I have been playing much better recently and the cause has been easily diagnosed.

I became tired of being overweight and joined Weight Watchers again, for which I was a member twenty years ago. After losing ninety pounds I felt better and gained confidence in myself and all aspects of my life improved including my golf game. But as it is with most humans, when we get away from what works for us, it quits working.

Once I began working the WW program, which is portion control, proper nutrition and exercise, I quickly began to take off the pounds that I put on the last twenty-five years. With my esteem improving my attention began to return and my confidence with it. I quickly realized errors in my swing and swung the clubs with assurance. My length and direction followed and my handicap is slowly falling.

I bring this all to your attention as it is important that we find those things that prevent us from achieving our ultimate potential. First we must find things that we love. Then we have to give those things our full and undivided attention. As we divide our attention we also divide our energy. High energy, well focused, is necessary for laser-like results. Assertiveness

As a metaphysical psychologist I work with both passive and aggressive personality types. The basic reason my clients have problems is they don't know how to communicate. Both personalities have difficulties with communication for opposite reasons.

Passive people don't ask for what they want and when they don't get what they want they get frustrated. People need to be responsible for getting their needs met and passive people tend to be too passive to achieve this simple procedure.They want to blame not getting their needs met on others and this creates a victim mentality. The blame for this rests solely on each of us.

Aggressive people tend to demand and expect their needs to be met. The less their needs are met the more aggressive they become until they block all access to their needs. When people get too aggressive they are seen as victimizers; usually at the expense of victims. One cannot make life happen. One must learn to ask for what they need and not demand or expect it.

The bridge that works for both personality types is the art of assertiveness. Assertiveness is a communication tool that all great communicators have realized. When a passive person becomes assertive they begin to get most of their needs met. When an aggressive person is assertive they create an atmosphere of teamwork and everyone wins. If we rid the world of victims or victimizers they will rematerialize due to the needs of each.

Structure

There are people who are driven and there are those who are not. In no way am I saying that people are better than others. I am saying people are different from one another. There are self-starters and there are people like me that need more structure. In fact there are four main personality types and they vary as night and day. People like me need a platform or program that prevents character defects, such as my ADD, that wants to hold me back, from allowing me to thrive.

I am a recovering alcoholic and need the structure of a program to stay on course and an over eater that needs a structure or program for the same reason. Structure sets the course and I plot my plan within the conditions of the structure. If I had no structure I would drift at sea permanently. I am neither proud of this nor ashamed; I am merely aware and take action on that awareness.

I believe that I am blessed with unlimited success as I get to be a part of WE instead of just me. I get to be a part of something bigger than me to allow me to feel like I am an integral part of something much larger that me. I am one in a world of seven billion and am able to remain a unique individual as proven by my DNA. I get to learn to hold solid on my beliefs and still allow others the right to have theirs. I am blessed with fellowship, which affords me both criticism and support.

The major part of my profession as a metaphysical minister and metaphysical psychologist is to help people create mental structure. I help people understand and live within the confines of God and spiritual law. I guide people in becoming God incarnate or to become the child of God that we were all created to be, within the confines of the laws that guide us to our ultimate potential.

As children of God we learn to be honest without being opinionated or critical as "Criticism without Cure is Criminal." We learn to love as unconditionally as possible in parallel to God's love. We try to live by God's principals such as kindness, compassion, tolerance and understanding to name only a few. We can only accomplish this within the structure of WE. Cause and Effect

Societies primary modus operandi is pathology. Pathology is the study of disease. We seem to think we can create good health by changing the effect without changing the cause. We use drugs for everything, although drugs cure very few diseases. The FDA has stated that the only thing that can claim curing a disease is a licensed drug from a pharmaceutical company. It seems God has been left out of curing all the diseases of mankind.

Apathology is the study of health. The human body, in perfect health, is capable of fighting off any and all diseases. Yet we rely on drugs that oftentimes have more side affects than the original disease. Our reliance on drugs has made our country the seventy-fifth healthiest country at a cost that is the highest in the world. We are not gaining ground on disease because disease is an incredible money maker. The cost of good health, on the other hand, is only slightly higher than poor health.

By feeding the body organic highly nutritional food and pure water we feed our cells what they need to take care of us. When we provide our body with sufficient rest and plentiful exercise we charge our body to it's maximum potential. When we feed our minds with positive optimistic thoughts we send positive information to our cells and allow them to work properly. When we pray and meditate we empower ourselves in the image and likeness of God. This empowerment provides us with the creative energy that created the universe.

When we become responsible for our health we will no longer look to the government, the so called health professionals or any other people for our health. When all is said and done the results of our lack of responsibility will be our demise. And always remember...

Talent

Everyone was born to be someone. Most of us have been convinced that we don't know what we are destined to be in order for someone else to decide for us. I was never encouraged to develop my internal talent. Many people start out life in a predestined direction and are quickly brought into compliance by the people in their lives who propose their actions as loving and "for their own good." The reality is that the good is for the people demanding the compliance and not the person forced into compliance.

Our society has become so brainwashed toward political correctness that individuality has been lost. In the loss of individuality one's inner talent is lost. This is sad because our DNA has set us toward a propensity for greatness guided by our intrinsic talents. When one is guided away from their talents the journey toward greatness is misguided and the result is usually failure. Thank goodness God refuses to accept failure as there is always opportunity to recover awareness of who we really are, otherwise I would have had to settle for mediocrity.

If, through my failures, I had not been met with the wisdom, encountered at my bottom, I would not have known my ultimate potential. I had to fail at being who I thought I was, before I could restart my life toward my destiny. In the journey toward providence I found my talents. These talents were actually the things that my youth support system convinced me to let go of in an attempt to help me become what they thought was my best interest. They were wrong and God was right. I may not fit into any mold of average or complacency. I am who I am and that is perfect in God's eyes.

Humility

I have been accused of lacking humility most of my life as I have a double A personality. Passive people seem to believe that one must be passive in order to achieve humility. Humility is not a status. Humility is not weakness. Humility is not necessarily quiet or peaceful. SO WHAT IS HUMILITY?

Years ago I was told that humility was merely realizing your right place with God and not your place in society. If I feel that I am in charge of my life then I lack humility. If I don't give God credit for my life then I lack humility. Jesus, one of the most humble people to walk the earth, said, "the father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." One's greatness is a direct reflection on one's humility.

The more one allows arrogance to dispel humility the greater the distance from God. The farther we get from God the more pain is generated as a result of God's love for us and his refusal to lose our soul. There is nothing we can do to separate God from ourselves but much can separate us from God. The Ten Commandments and most of the stories in the Bible reflect the dangers of SIN (Self Inflicted Nonsense) or those things that block God's love. We must, through humility, stay in constant conscious contact with God if we want constant blessings.

New Years Resolutions

With 2012 in full motion, I hope all of you set new year resolutions. Resolutions are changes we would like to make in ourselves to improve our lives. We must continually be paying attention to our assets and defects in an effort to move closer to our perfect self! As we strengthen our assets through practice, we become aware of our defects and work on letting them go. We don't fight our defects as this only strengthens them. This is a result of the spiritual law, "What we fight we empower." God is in control and will not fight our freedom of choice if it separates us but will empower us in a Godly direction.

We are perfect in our spiritual nature but flawed in our human nature or Ego. This is why I say practice what works and let go of what doesn't. The only true flaw in our Ego is that which separates us from a constant awareness of God. To guarantee we can't separate ourselves from God, laws were set to create pain through our separation. The more the distance, the more severe the pain or lack of success.

All my new years resolutions are made in an attempt to reach spiritual perfection. But there are a few things I needed to learn about change before I expected to actually meet my resolutions. It is a psychological fact that if we want to feel good about ourselves we must continually be moving from success to success no mater how small. We are driven by our spiritual self, which is God like and in continually need of developing its creative nature. This is why you have heard me harp on the fact that we must never settle for anything.

We should set far reaching goals for ourselves supported by intricate plans and all driven by constant action. Those that work at achieving their resolutions, even if they fail, will achieve small amounts of accomplishment merely for the effort. Those that do nothing achieve nothing. As a child of God, I am a blessing. Through God's relentless grace, I am blessed. To feel blessed I must also bless, as this is the law of circulation. The practice of this law is what I call Vertical and Horizontal spirituality. I must stay in constant conscious contact with God and I must pass the power I get to others in order to keep the movement of God flowing.

In the law of circulation, the power comes from God, to me. For this power to work it must pass through me and out of me, hopefully into you. All power from God whether it be a blessing, love, patience or any of the hundreds of principals of God must pass though me to continue the circulation. Whether the power continues through you into others is on you as I can only be responsible for my part in the flow of power or presence of God. If we could get all of God's children, all 6,983,982,636 of us (as of 16:13 UTC (EST+5) Dec 27, 2011) to follow this spiritual law of circulation we could see the end of war, poverty, hunger and all other forms of unhappiness.

We must constantly bless others if we want maintain constant blessings for ourselves. "Love thy neighbor as thyself," is not just a good idea it is the law of circulation. Gratitude

Tis the season to be grateful. I was told years ago that one cannot be unhappy and grateful at the same time. After years of metaphysics I not only agree with the need for gratitude but I understand the spiritual laws behind the action. Behind all manifestation is law and action. This world is ours to develop, as we have been given dominion over all earthly things. We can only accomplish this successfully with the support of our intuitive or spiritual self directing us.

When we become grateful we start to see how all the universe is intertwined. When we get grateful we realize that all that we have must be returned to the earth in order to complete the cycle and keep good things coming our way. I have been quoted as saying, "I cannot get to the top of my quest without taking anyone who wants to join me." I don't drag people, force people, coerce people or convert people. I just live my life loud, in a constant air of gratitude and be there for people, when the awareness of their condition surfaces.

I got sober over 31 years ago with long lists of should haves, shouldn't haves, wished I'd haves, hatred and unhappiness. I now feel I am over paid. Very little has change other than today I don't see life as a series of problems; I see incredible opportunity. I don't wish I had; I am glad I did. I don't doubt; I trust. I don't hate; I love. I am so grateful there were people there to catch me before I hit the pavement and died. The best way I know to pay people back for all they have done in order to help me turn my life around is to be available to the next wave of misdirected people.

Christmas

Christmas is not Santa Claus, the tree, the presents, the lights, the parties and all the commercialism. I would like to remind everyone that the birth of Jesus is the reason for the season. We are quickly approaching the 2011th birthday of the greatest prophet to ever walk the planet. Jesus brought a new message on the facets of God and God's relationship to us all, as we in Metaphysics call our Christ-self. As the Christ was born with Jesus it is also born with us. By studying Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament we can evaluate what living the Christ life looks like. All we have to do is answer the call and follow the Christ in us and our lives immediately change for the better.

I have said often that we have both a human nature and a spiritual nature. It is the Soul, the Christ within us that has our answers and this is what Christmas is all about. We have been loved by God since our beginning but we must devote ourselves to God as God's love is devoted to us. Do Jesus proud by celebrate Christmas with enthusiasm and gratitude, practicing a life of love as seen in the life of Jesus. We no longer have to fear God as God's grace is always and forever.

Christ dispelled the historical Old Testament understanding of God as a judgmental, taskmaster. He replaced the God of fear with the God of love. He called God, Our Father. He told us that God is like the perfect parent. All any of us wants for our children is greatness. The difference between God's relationship to us and our relationship of our children is that God is not powerless, therefore he has no need for emotion. What God wants eventually God gets. God cannot interfere with our choices as he gave us free will. He has made separating ourselves from our greatness a painful choice. God doesn't deliver turmoil to us; we bring it on ourselves and even then he turns our turmoil into understanding and a blessing.

I am so grateful for the God of my understanding. God's has always been there for me. If God was saddled with humanness I would not have made my transformation as all my work is My Father working through me. I was saved by God's persistence, which is a byproduct of grace. Loyalty

Last night as I was riding the bus back to my car after the football game, I was talking to a couple of fans of the opposing team. I mentioned that I was a fan of their team for years. This response brought a resounding response and a barrage of negative reproach. I was told by one of the younger fans that they would never lose their loyalty. This brought me to question loyalty and this is my blog.

According to Encarta Dictionary loyalty is the act of remaining faithful to a country, person, ruler, government, or ideal. I am only faithful to my God as God is unchanging and can always be trusted. With God as my example, I am only loyal to that which is loyal to me. I refuse to prostitute my future from any belief I have today. It seems as the older I get the less crow I am willing to eat therefore the longer it takes me to respond to situations.

I have learned through years of personal behavioral inventories that the faster I react, the less success I can expect. When we take our time in evaluating information involved in every decision we will tend to make much wiser choices. Yet no matter what decision we make we must never be loyal beyond the now as information continually changes. We must stay in the now and be quick to change with those changes. The one thing that is guaranteed not to change is change itself.

God doesn't change therefore true reality never changes. For me to have a better relationship with God I must be quick to change my mind. When the information I have chosen as reality is merely my reality and not real I must step into the now with grace and dignity. Determination

Encarta dictionary defines determination as firmness of purpose, will, or intention. Much has been written on this subject yet not enough has been read. For one to be determined one must first remove all forms of fear, worry or doubt for these things are disloyal to God. Determination is what propels successful people beyond the point of retreat for which others turn away from their goals.

If our goals are set according to our inner calling, what the Bible calls our heart's desire, we can easily acquire determination. Success is found through designing a vivid goal, establishing rigid plans and acting with determination. By listening to our soul, through meditation, we hear God's inherent goals for us. It is our determination that takes us to our goal but it is knowing our heart's desire that brings serenity upon reaching our goal.

I have had determination in my life with goals founded in Ego and upon reaching my goal I found myself wanting. Since I have learned to pray for God to show me his will for me and the power to carry it out, I have been much more exact in my goal setting. I will never find contentment in achieving a goal for which I was not intended. It is the awareness of this knowledge that allows me to forgive my past and realize it was vital in acquiring my spiritual purpose. God wastes nothing in accomplishing his wishes for us.

I offer God my complete allegiance. I patiently meditate throughout the day, listening to God's guidance. By practicing spiritual principals I begin to model my spiritual heredity becoming the person God designed me to be. I know I certainly feel better about myself when I am living in accordance with the God of my understanding and I hope God is proud of the life I am living.

Life is a combination of intellect and feeling. When I stay determined in finding and accomplishing God's will for me I utilize my intellect in achieving my goal, while my feelings determine my success. And as always I leave with you a thought to keep you moving toward your personal best...

Awareness

Nothing changes until awareness happens. We can hear or we can see without being aware. Awareness is taking a thought and combining it with feeling. This combination creates passion, excitement and enthusiasm. This is the energy that creates change and it is change that satisfies the awareness.

As a recovering alcoholic, my parents, friends and many others knew I had a problem years before I did. I had my opinion, and although it was irrational, it was my opinion and it clouded my awareness. Untrue and unfounded ideas are many people's truth and this is why we lack true awareness.

God is unchanging as God is the ultimate. I was told that God is either all or nothing and today I believe God is both all and nothing. If God is everything that would include nothing. Everything in the universe is cyclic and returns to it's beginning eventually. This is my awareness. It didn't just come to me. It came to me after decades of studying the universe, God, human nature, spiritual nature and human behavior.

If one's life isn't to one's satisfaction one must pray for awareness. God will not change the universe as it is designed perfectly and within God's favor. The only thing that needs to change is our awareness. This is why I leave you with...

Forgiveness

Once one is aware of the Grace of God, forgiveness is never needed, because judgment never takes place. Grace is unconditional love or a lack of judgment. Judgment is a condition of our human nature or Ego and not a condition of our spiritual nature or our God self.

Forgiveness is a statement to Ego that judgment has no place in a spiritual life. We are to love as God loves. We must see everyone through God's eyes as spiritual beings trying their best to trudge through our humanness. If our spiritual nature is to rein we must rid ourselves of judgment and when we are incapable of living a judgment free life we must be quick to forgive.

Jesus told us that we are judged by our own judgment. When we perceive the world through our human nature we see SIN, an acronym for Self, Inflicted, Nonsense. If one believes that Jesus died to wash away man's sin, one must believe that sin has been washed away. If one believes that sin is nothing more that one distancing themselves from God's grace, forgiveness is as far away as a change in moral direction.

Whatever the case, feeling one is not forgiven separates oneself even further from the love of God. All God wants is our heart's desire and the crux of our heart's desire is to be one with God. To be one with God one must know God's love and know that it is available to us 24/7 whether we earn it or not.

What is Love?

Love is the flow of positive spiritual energy or God. Either the positive flow of God is moving or it is not. The lack of flow is not love; it is fear. One is either connected to God or not. We may experience a lull in love but one must understand that love can not be made; it must be let. Often we are trying too hard when we have lulls in love. Love either is or it isn't. We are either experiencing love or fear constantly.

There are two types of love. The first love is Vertical Love or the love between God and us. God's love always has been, is now and always will be available to us, if we let God. This love can only be held back by a lack of the faith in it being there, for it is always there. The more lack of faith, the more we inhibit love and the absence of love is always fear. It has been said, "When fear knocks on the door and faith opens it there is nothing there."

Jesus brought us the Golden Rule, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." This law must be understood as it is necessary to understand the second love or Horizontal Love. Horizontal love is the love we show one another. But before we can share our internal love with others we must own our love from God. We must know that God loves us with grace or unconditional love. I know this love first hand. As with most of us I have made what many religions would call sinful mistakes. But as Jesus said to the Pharisees when they were preparing to stone the prostitute, "Ye that sinneth not cast the first stone."

Jesus knew that we were all human, under the direction of Ego and had a sinful nature. He also knew that we were first and primarily spiritual. Our spiritual nature is perfect, therefore God like. God could never be angry with his children. God knows the pressure put on us by our Ego and as a father I can tell you that seeing my children suffer saddens me although my reaction is usually anger.

These emotions are reactions to powerlessness, for which God does not suffer. Emotions are brought about by judgment and God once again is grace or lack of judgment therefore not capable of emotion neither sadness or anger. God merely loves, which is our ultimate potential. There is no sin that is unforgivable by God as he never judges. Judgment is contrary to grace therefore it is contrary to God.

To love one another we must do our best to duplicate the love that God offers us. We must love all, unconditionally. We must give our all to help others achieve the heritage within us all. The world is we. It is not us and them. It is merely we. Although we differ in color, religion, creed and language we all began from a single DNA and God wants us to be WE! Love is not dishonor, disrespect, hatred or war as these are all proponents of fear and not love.

God has never supported war as it is not love. Love is constant. Let it flow and learn both Vertical Love and Horizontal Love. The best way to remember is to do this is to remember...

Blind Faith?

I for one am not capable of blind faith. I was born with "WHY" on the inside of my forehead. I have great capabilities with proper understanding but I am not willing to jump off a cliff without a 100% guarantee of survival. I cannot believe in someone else's understanding of God so I have spent the last fifty-nine years of my life refining my understanding of God in an effort to surrender entirely.

I was unable to turn my life over to the God of my early understanding as the God I was taught was an evil taskmaster. I knew I could never live up to the demands of God. Even now I cannot understand how people could believe that God would do the things they blamed him for in the Old Testament of the Bible. When God led me to my current understanding through Metaphysics, the Bible made perfect sense to me. In the beginning, God made. God set laws that make the universe so now God just let's!

Most of the Bible is written in metaphors describing the war between human nature and spiritual nature; the war between the Ego and Soul. It was finally Jesus that brought the world the true nature of God. My favorite understanding of God is in Emmet Fox's seven aspects of God; Life, Truth, Love, Intelligence, Soul, Spirit and Principal. With these seven aspects and the knowledge that God is GRACE I have all the understanding I need to let God have all my life.

In my old life God was behind me sweeping and mopping up the disasters of my life that I ran on my own. I now have God as a scout in my life running ahead of me and informing in my meditation of what I can expect. I also know that all in God's universe is perfect and that all in my life is magic and opportunity, knowing that no evil can befall me. It's easy to remember...

What is God?

This may be the easiest blog I have ever written. GOD IS LOVE! Not just any love but grace. God is unconditional love. God loves all the time, everywhere you look is love. We may not be able to discern why it looks contrary to love but all the universe is love.

When we were in the Garden of Eden we knew the universe was love. We saw all as perfect. Then one day humans listened to Ego and decided that there was imperfection in the universe. Although this change of perception didn't change the reality that the universe was perfect it did change the attitude of humans. When we realize the perfection of the universe, just as it is, we can once again live in the Garden of Eden, happy and contented.

In a perfect universe we can live loud and fast, knowing that all roads lead to God. We cannot make mistakes as all mistakes are merely misconceptions and bring us knowledge that otherwise may have been missed. All successes are built on the foundations created by the knowledge we draw from our mistakes. God loves us and thinks we are perfect. He knows the challenges of being a human and loves us perfectly as we attempt to rise above our Ego in our spiritual quest.

We must realize the mire we live in and know it is temporary unlike our spiritual life, which is permanent. We must rise above our human condition into spiritual bliss knowing the love God offers us all, all the time, 24/7/365, to eternity. We are all blessed and can only find true serenity in this awareness. It is this that I share when I ask everyone to remember...

Conscience

Anyone ever notice that the word science is in the word conscience? As metaphysics is beyond physics, conscience is beyond us. The truth to the separation of church and science created by the original Catholic Church, is that we cannot separate God from science and we cannot separate science from God. With the introduction of quantum physics and the study of metaphysics we can now return God to us and us to God.

In studying metaphysics we learn that conscience is direction from God. When we stop listening to outside influence such as political correctness and varying opinions, normally stated as facts, we might hear the small unpretentious voice within, which is conscience. We have two voices within so we must be patient and aware if we are going to be able to decipher the information between these two voices.

The two voices we battle with are good and evil, God and Devil, right and wrong or what I like to call Ego and Soul. Soul is our unpretentious voice and is steady and stable. Ego is loud, overbearing and constantly changing in an attempt to convince us it is right. It is the separation of these two entities that meditation is designed. Meditation allows us to focus our energy internally. The longer we meditate the more time we spend with Ego and Soul and the better we can separate them. We must learn to secede from our Ego and listen primarily to our Soul.

I do listen to outside information. First I research the information and then I meditate on it and let my Soul help me with my decision. One must learn patience as life is best lived slowly in the now. I choose not to live in the grasp of my opinion or the opinion of others as my truth is constantly changing. God doesn't change but as I surrender a non-truth of God I allow my Soul to guide me to my perfect destiny. And as always I leave you with this reminder...

Be

Be what? Most people know what to do, even if they don't do it. Ask them to be and they normally just stare at you. Most people, at some level, have learned to be what others have told them to be. Most of the rest do the opposite of what they have been told as an act of rebellion. I guess this is why 82% of people dislike their jobs, 50% of marriages fail and 20% of all people will suffer some form of a diagnosable mental illness within their lifetime.

When I assist people in finding their true self they become more empowered. They attack life with a new sense of urgency. They quickly adopt an optimistic attitude. They gain esteem, pride, confidence and awareness. They make less mistakes and begin to accomplish success in small ways at first and those successes mount. Newton's laws of motion state, that #1, An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it. #2, An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it. Once people find who they are meant to be they are on the road to their ultimate potential.

No matter how hard one works to accomplish a goal, it pales in comparison to being oneself with the passion that entails. We are perfect for what we were designed. Being is the purest form of life and has the best chance of achieving one's destiny. A vast majority of the successful people I have met over my lifetime have a clear idea of who they are and where they are going. Even great goals and plans don't always achieve greatness if not combined with self awareness. This is why I always leave my readers with the reminder…
